Hypnosis for Childbirth!
My name is Lorraine Shorman, and as a Certified Doula/ Perinatal Support Specialist, I will provide physical, emotional and nurturing support during labor, childbirth and the immediate postpartum period. As a mother of three children myself, I know first hand the emotional choices which must be made during labor and delivery. As a doula I am committed to helping birthing women and their partners achieve the birth that they want to have with the best of outcomes. The nurturing and support that a doula will provide to a mother and her partner is invaluable.
As a birth doula, I do not administer medical care or interpret medical procedures. I will strongly support every choice of the birthing woman and her partner. The purpose behind providing labor support is to accomplish satisfying outcomes for babies, mothers, and the entire family.
There are many, wonderful long-term benefits of using a birth doula such as improved breastfeeding, decreased postpartum depression, greater maternal satisfaction and stronger mother-infant interaction and bonding.
I will provide comfort measures such as relaxation, visualization, breathing techniques, massage, positive reinforcement, relaxation music, birth ball, position changes, visualization, warm showers, aromatherapy, reflexology, and assistance with Moms using Hypnobabies during birth. I will also aide in communication with your birth team to ensure a positive birthing experience for everyone involved!
I am available for continuous early labor support in your home, if desired. I provide 24-hour on call phone support during your pregnancy, as well as accompanying you and your partner to prenatal visits if desired. I offer postpartum care, along with breastfeeding assistance as needed, resources for Mom, and postpartum phone support with a follow up visit after the birth.
